My name is Jaime Diez. I am a UC architect (CCIE Voice #39440) looking for new challenges!
Since I was 13 years old and I got my first computer, I have been fiddling with every type of device, software and solutions. I got my CCIE certification when I was 26 years old on my first attempt, which is one of the achievements I am most proud of.
Despite the fact that unified communications is my area of expertise, during my life I have worked in many environments from Linux to FreeBSD, but mainly with Microsoft. My first experience with a telephony system was with a legacy Siemens PBX which gave me the opportunity to learn a lot of things about voice foundations and features. After that I worked with Avaya in contact center environments but primarily I work with the Cisco UC portfolio which is the field where I have spent most of my time!I am passionate about unified communications so a few years ago I decided to give Lync a try because of my previous background with Microsoft solutions, such as Active Directory and Exchange which has been incredibly helpful.
I really like to work in my lab where I can design, plan test and prepare demos to help others with complex solutions for critical and large environments.
The goal of this blog is to share my thoughts and experience with others about UC. I do not want to just focus on the highly technical details but also to show non-technical people the great features and solutions that unified communications can offer us.
As a non-native English speaker I am sorry if I make some mistakes. Please just tell me if there is any error or something is not clear enough.
I would love to discuss any proposed topic so please leave me a comment or contact me.
